Primary school - 5 years
Middle school - 3 years
High school - 2 years

Primary education is officially compulsory, although many children do not attend. Parents are expected to make a donation either when a student starts school or at the beginning of the year; the amount depends on the fame and quality of the school. After that, a small monthly fee applies.

Secondary education is divided into Middle Schools and High Schools. At the end of high school, students must pass the Basic Education Standard X Examination in order to receive their diplomas. Those, who pass six subjects with substantially higher scores, continue their tertiary education.
