An Embarrassing Incident

It was a glorious Saturday morning. “Ring!” John was woken by his alarm clock. Sleepily, he yawned and got out of his bed. As his mother was not home, he decided to go to a nearby restaurant to have his breakfast.

A while later, he reached the restaurant. As he was tremendously hungry, he decided to have a huge breakfast. He picked the menu from the table and cried, “Waiter!” When the waiter came, John began to order many dishes. John gobbled up his food. In about ten minutes, he had already finished his entire meal. Full as he was, he got up to check the amount of money he needed to pay. He rummaged through his pocket for some money. His cheerful face turned into a face of horror and shock.

John went to the counter and said apologetically to the cashier that he had forgotten to bring his wallet. The cashier’s face became as red as a tomato. His eyes flashed angrily. He was furious. “Go and wash the plates and dishes!’ he barked. Reluctantly, John went into the kitchen to wash the dishes.

The plates and dishes were very dirty. John had a hard time making them spotlessly clean. It was a bad experience. John was embarrassed. After this incident, John always checked if he had brought his wallet whenever he went out.
