| Trapped in a lift |

The sky was an expanse of azure blue dotted with magnolia white clouds. I waited impatiently for the lift to arrive. "THINK ...!" The lift door opened and six people went in including me. "Crash!" All of a sudden, the whole lift plunged into darkness. "Help! Help!" the aunties were screaming frantically. A teenager was listening to his walkman, not even aware of the situation. I pressed the alarm button like a mad dog! Then I shouted, "Everybody, calm down!" Feeling hot, I fanned myself with my textbook. After half an hour, we heard some noises from outside. "Is there anyone inside? We are from the Civil Defence!" "Yes!" we yelled. Luckily for us, there was a glimmer of hope. A muscular man tried to open the door, with all his might. A well-dressed lady perspired profusely and she had to wipe her perspiration continuously with a piece of already damp tissue. We all waited and waited ... "Creek!" We saw a beam of light. "Sunlight! I thought I will never live to see the sun again." I went home immediately and hugged my mother very tightly. During that moment, I realized that life was very precious and fragile.
