Registration Phases
for Admission into Primary 1

Registration for admission into Primary 1 is carried out in phases. Should the number of applicants exceed the number of vacancies in any phase, successful applicants are determined first by proximity of residence and then by ballot. The priority of proximity of residence is given in the following order: to those who live within 1 km of the school, within 2 km and finally to those who live outside of the 2 km boundary of the school.

Phase 1 for a child who has a sibling currently studying
in the school of choice

Phase 2A for a child whose parent or sibling
had studied in the school of choice

OR whose parent
is a member of the School Advisory/Management Committee
or a staff of that school

At the end of Phase 2A, 50% of the remaining places
will be allocated for Phase 2B.

If applicants exceed the 50% cap, successful applicants will be determined
first by proximity of residence to school then by ballot.

Phase 2B
is for a child whose parent
is directly connected with the school.

Phase 2C is for a child
who is ineligible for or unsuccessful in earlier phases

Phase 2C Supplementary is for a child who is unsuccessful
in gaining a place in a school of choice at Phase 2C.
