Jew (4:9) → Sir (4:11) → Prophet (4:19) → Messiah (4:29)

Jesus talked with her probably around December (cf. four months till harvest). The feast in John 5:1 was likely the Passover (cf. Mark 2:23-28 where the disciples were picking grains on the Sabbath). The Passover is celebrated on the 14th day of the first month (Lev 23:5) i.e. around April.
